about

This latest full-length self-serving and egotistical excercise by ARCHangel (side project of D.F.S.). If you have been following the project through the full length albums and numerous stand-alone "singles" and compilation submissions, then surely you require no additional information.

For this album, a focus on underwater travel was attempted to be explored as central thematic, with obviously mixed results. So grab a CO2 tank and a wetsuit, strap on your swim goggles and plunge into the dark depths of which pressure will surely crush you should you stray too deeply...

"... I had been toying with the idea of scrapping this release altogether, seeing as how in my perception, it breaks no new ground and does nothing to help to contribute to the evolution of the project. At first it felt like standing still amidst the ever-expanding world of the internet age, and then upon a closer inspection, I came to the conclusion that this record was somewhat important, not on a purely self-egoistical umbilical format, but rather as a point in time recorded. The mere fact that it was done, reguardless of perceived value to anyone, is in itself enough to validate it from existing, even if it means to be overshadowed and obcured by bigger and better artists and projects. In a world where anyone can basically release anything at any time, the concept of a record as a testament to existence seems an almost extinct way of seeing art... yet still, I thought that this record just had to be, even if it isn't the best in the almost 30-year old ARCHangel project. In any case, I find it a rather easy-to-listen-to album when accomplishing other tasks and duties, and maybe it should be absorbed as such: background music." (Alexander Wheill, 2020)
